How long before I get my test results?

How do I find out about my blood test?

A provider is on call 24/7. Patients are encouraged to call during office hours when possible, and to use the online system for non-urgent issues. For emergencies, patients may call at any time.

How do I find out my test results? Do I assume they are negative if I don’t hear from anyone?

No. We always contact patients whether results are negative or positive.

  • If negative: A call or mailed note will be sent within two weeks.
  • If positive: We call immediately.
  • If an appointment is within two weeks, results may be discussed in person.
  • If no contact is made within two weeks, patients should call the office.

How do I find out the results of my Bone Density Test?

Unless results are normal, the doctor prefers to review them with the patient. This includes interpretation, treatment options, and expectations. Results are generally not given over the phone.

How do I get refills?

  • Refills can be requested through the pharmacy, by calling the office, or using the online system.
  • Refills are not processed on weekends or after hours.
  • Narcotic refills:
    • Not processed on weekends or after hours.
    • Only refilled once a month.
    • Lost, stolen, or spilled medications are not accepted as reasons for early refills.
    • Early refills require an in-person visit and assessment.
